Have the Spaniards arrived in any respectable numbers yet or are they still infrequent at the mo?
You probably don’t remember Rob but I was throwing a few metals from your boat a couple of years ago and got a nice spanny. Those lures are called busted metals from Busted fishing. A jetted hexagon, tough as and the best I’ve used for anything, every where. 👍
Bit of a doh moment with the new Garmin Virb this morning. Flicked it on but it was upside down so turned it off thinking the image would be upside and never got a chance to look at the settings but it must auto flip itself. Anyway missed heaps of action. Now we are past the quarter on the build to the full it was a different ocean out there. We had a mad half hour on the moon rise time when the ocean came alive with bait, birds, sharks, mackerel and tuna. We ended up with 12 spotty mackerel, 2 yellowfin tuna and half a dozen skipjack tuna. We also had a yellowfin sharked and a few spotties. ... See MoreSee Less

Yeah my Garmin flipped upside down and changed language 50 km offshore...... they reckon they have never seen or heard of it happening before sent it back they sent a replacement that didn't work either next one they sent is working

Back of the new moon is always the worst week of the month plus we have had bananas on the boat, rough weather and not very co-operative fish. Usually by a process of elimination you can work out where to be with a good run of weather and we have been on some great shows at times but it just hasn't happened. Done a lot of trolling for the bigger pelagics, marlin, wahoo, Spanish mackerel and mahi mahi and couldn't even pull them off a floating object where they were free jumping all over the place and we had livies. ... Smashed them today! Possession limit of parrot to 47cm, 2 rosy jobfish, 2 southern fusiliers, a squire, a morwong, some hussar & some variegated emperor! Not bad for summer reef fishing. ... See MoreSee Less
