Khali booked this in as they were coming down from Rocky to look at buying a car with her dad. We headed back to Noosa as one of the game guys had found the bait again and tagged a marlin and was catching a few mack tuna. We left in a stiff 15knot SE breeze but we knew the Noosa guys were in a glass-out. Sure enough off Coolum it changed for the better. We got there just as the guys had finished catching a 58cm red emperor. We drifted along only pulling small stuff. We tried my reliable spot for a few keepers but by then the northerly was up and it was dark enough for a soft plastics fish. First drift and they were on. A few rat kings made their presence felt. A short while late Khali’s dad hooked something better. Sure enough, it was a nice snapper in the 60-65cm range. We got a few more follows up from kingies but it had gone a bit quiet. We tried a couple of other lumps and then came in.
